dc.description.abstract	In this article, laughter is highlighted as an inherent faculty of the human being, which manifests itself in reality, driven by the comical, as part of daily life, where it fulfills a series of positive functions for individuals and societies. And since the engine that moves it, the comical, was installed in literature since those times when the only vehicle for literary creation was orality, laughter and literature are amalgamated. The comic literarytext of greatest content and permanence is the oral, popular, and traditional, which in the narrative is constituted in a genre called joke or “chiste” (which is also known in the province of Chiriquí, as “talla”). After documenting the traditional popular narrative in this province for two decades, we offer samples of its humorous literature, to witness not only its existence, but its character and value.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	En este artículo se destaca la risa como una facultad inherente al ser humano, que se manifiesta en la realidad, impulsada por lo cómico, como parte de la vida cotidiana, donde cumple una serie de funciones positivas para el individuo y la sociedad. Y puesto que el resorte que la mueve, lo cómico, se instaló en la literatura desde aquellos tiempos en que el único vehículo de creación literaria era la oralidad, larisa y la literatura están amalgamadas. El texto literario cómico de mayor data y permanencia es el oral, popular, tradicional, que en la narrativa se constituye en un género, denominado chiste; en Chiriquí, talla. Por ello, al documentar durante más de una década la narrativa popular tradicional en esta provincia, ofrecemos muestras de esta literatura jocosa, para atestiguar no solo su existencia, sino su carácter y su valor.
