| dc.description.abstract | This research titled Factors that Influence in the learning of the English language of High School Students of the Province of Chiriquí attempts to analyze the factors that keep public high school students from learning English after studying for six years. Besides, a didactic strategy is proposed to allow students to efficiently interact with the use of the English language. This research has a qualitative, analytic, descriptive and explanatory approach. It is transversal since it allows collecting data at a single moment in a single time. It also counts on a quantitative approach to make comparisons between groups. Fifteen variables were considered (eight items for each one): Factors that affect the learning of the English language as a second language; Methods and techniques of the teaching of the English language; Learning of the English language at academic level; Complacency of the teaming of the English language;. Motivation in teaching; Learning of the English language; Honesty in the learning and teaching of the English Languages; Command and group control in the teaching of the English Language; Teaching of quality of teaming of the English Language; Time devoted to the study of the English Language; Appropriate Infrastructure.- Learning of the English Language; Psychology of the teaching of the English Languages Didactic material for Teaching - Lemming of the English Language; Listening and cognitive comprehension of the learning of the English Language; The Scientific Method in the Teaching and Learning of the English Language. The study was conducted in 13 public high schools which Grant secondary level diplomas in science of the province of Chiriquí and a high school in Tole which grants diplomas in the business area. The study included a population of 1897 students in their senior year in high school, and the sample included 546 students. The survey was applied to graduate students in 2010. A diagnosis was applied in order to determine their level of knowledge of the English language. Ten high school principals were included in the work, ten coordinators and 32 teachers. Graphics of the answers provided by each group were presented as well as the summary of the eight items of the variables to establish the expectations per variable. In almost all variables, students' answers were contrasting to those provided by teachers in order to determine their skills in comprehensive reading, writing, dictation and conversation, knowledge that they had acquired during six years of study. Results indicated the deficiencies of students in the mastering of the English language. A proposal of methodological and didactic strategies(Model TECLA) to improve the learning and teaching of English in the classroom is presented. This work was carried out with seventh graders of the Puerto Armuelles Junior High school. This work, which proved to be motivating, dynamic, innovative and participative, arose interest among students who showed their teaming and communicative skills in the English language in the three-month study. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | La presente investigación Factores que Influyen en el Aprendizaje del Idioma Inglés, en los Estudiantes de los Colegios Secundarios Públicos de la Provincia de Chiriquí busca analizar los factores que impiden que los estudiantes de los colegios públicos no aprendan el idioma Inglés después de seis años de estudio. Además, se propone una estrategia didáctica que permite que los estudiantes se desenvuelvan eficientemente con el uso del idioma inglés. Esta investigación es de un enfoque cualitativo, analítico, descriptivo y explicativo. Es transversal, ya que permite recolectar datos en un solo momento y en un tiempo único. También consta del enfoque cuantitativo para hacer comparaciones entre grupos. Se trabajó con 15 variables (ocho ítems cada una): Factores que afectan el aprendizaje del idioma inglés como segunda lengua Métodos y Técnicas de enseñanza del idioma inglés; Aprendizaje del idioma inglés a nivel académicos; Complacencia del aprendizaje del idioma inglés Motivación en la enseñanza - aprendizaje del idioma inglés; la Honestidad en la enseñanza aprendizaje del idioma inglés; Dominio y Control del grupo en la enseñanza del idioma inglés; Enseñanza de calidad del aprendizaje del idioma inglés; Tiempo dedicado al estudio del idioma inglés infraestructura adecuada para la enseñanza - aprendizaje del idioma inglés; Psicología en la enseñanza del idioma inglés Material didáctico para la enseñanza - aprendizaje del idioma inglés; Comprensión auditiva y cognitiva del aprendizaje del idioma inglés; Mostrar competencia en la enseñanza del idioma inglés: el Método Científico en la enseñanza - aprendizaje del Idioma Inglés. Se estudió a 13 colegios públicos, Bachillerato en Ciencias de la provincia de Chiriquí y a un colegio de Tomé, bachiller en Comercio. Se trabajó con un total de 1897 estudiantes de sexto año para la población en estudio y se obtuvo una muestra, de 546. Se aplicó una encuesta a los estudiantes graduandos del 2010. Se aplicó un diagnóstico para determinar el conocimiento de inglés. Se trabajó con 10 directores, 10 coordinadores y 32 docentes. Se presentan gráficas de las respuestas que cada grupo brindó y se resume los ocho ítems de las variables para establecer las expectativas por variable. En casi todas las variables, las respuestas de los estudiantes contrastaron con las de los docentes, coordinadores y directores, por lo que se aplicaron pruebas orales y escritas a los estudiantes. para determinar sus habilidades en lectura comprensiva, escritura. dictado y conversación, conocimiento que habían adquirido durante seis años de estudio. Los resultados indicaron las deficiencias de los estudiantes en el dominio del idioma inglés. Se presenta una propuesta de estrategias didácticas y metodológicas (modelo TECLA) para mejorar la enseñanza-aprendizaje del idioma inglés dentro de las aulas. Se trabajó con estudiantes del séptimo grado. Del Primer Ciclo de Puerto Armuelles; el mismo demostró ser motivador, dinámico, innovador y participativo, el cual despertó interés en los estudiantes, quienes fueron demostrando sus destrezas de aprendizaje en las habilidades comunicativas en el idioma inglésen tres meses de estudio. | |
