The purpose of this research is to analyse the process of construction of social representations based on the information provided by women victims of violence in their relationship from their daily life. It is important to point out that different theories of this study field are reviewed which have helped to clarify the complexity of the phenomenon and the effects on the integrity of the family. To get closer to the problem, we counted on the collaboration of three women victims of intimate partner violence, who range between 30 and 50 years: in the scenario of the District of Bugaba, delimited to the social environment of the residence, where the social actors are conferred. The approach used is qualitative, which allows studying the reality in the natural context. In the same way, the phenomenological design was chosen because it provides the bases to gather and interpret the experiences, beliefs, and ways of thinking and acting of the social actors, before the problem. It used techniques such as: the semi-structured interview and the in-depth interview. Both are effective tools to extract from the conversational narratives testimonies of the lived situations. Once the results were analyzed, important data emerged regarding violence by the couple. When validating the categories of social representations, the subcategories recognized in the matrix were established, consisting of: attitudes, perception, beliefs, and attribution, which guided the research process. Because of its significance in respect to the attitude, the woman protects the relationship and clandestinizes the mistreatment, in terms or perception, there is gender inequality and social acceptance of abuse: regarding beliefs, women must obey men and maintain violence in the private sphere: and about the attributes, it is linked to feelings of guilt, emotional and economic dependence. Emphasis is placed on social learnin, characterized by passivity, weakness, sel-denial, and reinforced submission in family, religious and interactions. The social representations of women victims of intimate partner violence constitute an important object of study, which merits continuity and interdisciplinary contribution given its complexity.es_ES
