The present research work is descriptive and exploratory, it was elaborated with the objective of determining the knowledge of first aid in preschool education teachers of the Universidad Autónoma de Chiriquí. Teachers in the labor field should know how to act in case of an event that occurs among their students, even though their area is not precisely the medical field, but they are directly involved in the accompaniment of this group. Numerous accidents occur every year in schools, so it is essential to know the ability of preschool teachers to respond to emergency situations. The population studied consisted of 25 students in the fourth year of preschool; this sample represents 50% of the total because it was considered to be a good number of the total population of 50. Data collection was carried out by means of the survey technique and a questionnaire was used as an instrument, and for reliability, each student's e-mail was used. The results show that, in general, the teacher is not adequately qualified to deal with emergency situations at school. Therefore, it is concluded that there is a need to incorporate first aid training in the undergraduate studies of the Autonomous University of Chiriqui, as well as to offer permanent training courses that pay special attention to the preschool age.es_ES
