Through this research, it has been possible to determine which are the leading containerized cargo ports in the national and Latin American level. A wide variety of indicators used to measure port connectivity were chosen according to various sources such as CEPAL, IMT and UNCTAD, all with a different perspective to measure the degree of connectivity of a port. The selection of the indicators used in this research was carried out based on the results of a survey applied to experts in the port sector of Panama and other Latin American countries. The chosen indicators were annual deployed capacity of TEUs, storage capacity, port connectivity rate, dock loading and unloading productivity. Through the analysis of the indicators and the weighting of their results, it was possible to identify the best ports both nationally and in the rest of Latin America.A través de esta investigación se ha podido determinar cuáles son los puertos líderes de carga contenerizada a nivel nacional y de Latinoamérica. Se eligió una amplia variedad de indicadores utilizados para la medición de conectividad portuaria según diversas fuentes como CEPAL, IMT Y UNCTAD, todos con una perspectiva distinta para medir el grado de conectividad de un puerto. La selección de los indicadores utilizados en esta investigación se realizó a partir de los resultados de una encuesta aplicada a los expertos del sector portuario de Panamá y otros países de América Latina. Los indicadores elegidos fueron: capacidad anual desplegada de TEUs, capacidad de almacenaje, tasa de conectividad portuaria, productividad de carga y descarga en muelle. Mediante el análisis de los indicadores y la ponderación de sus resultados se pudo identificar a los mejores puertos tanto a nivel nacional como del resto de Latinoamérica.
